You may prefer to access WebVista sites via the recommended myU Portal.

WebVista B Decommission on December 30

On Wednesday, December 30, 2009, OIT will decommission WebVista B. Please e-mail webvista@umn.edu by 5:00 PM on Monday, November 30, 2009, with the title of any active WebVista B sites you wish us to move to WebVista C.

To "move" a site, we make a backup of the site on WebVista B, copy it and restore it on WebVista C. No student data will be lost. We then archive the old copy on WebVista B.

We will archive all sites on B that are not moved, so they will still be available for copying for new semesters. Old and archived sites dating back to at least 2007 continue to be available for copying.

To view your sites on WebVista B, click any WebVista B link that you see in MyU, or click the WebVista B link to the right, then the Log In button. If your WebVista site is on WebVista B, the URL of the site will begin with https://www1.webvista.umn.edu.

Instructors: Request WebVista Course Sites

Instructors, please fill out and submit the Site Request Form for each site you will need. The following may cause delays in creating your site:

incorrect information, including instructor listing, in the class schedule (make sure your department has updated the registration system with the correct information for your class); and
requests to copy sites without owner permission (if you are not an owner of a site you wish to copy, an owner must e-mail permission to webvista@umn.edu before the site can be copied).

Maintenance: 2nd and 4th Sundays, 9 a.m. to Noon

To provide the best possible performance of WebVista, the systems will be unavailable the second and fourth Sunday of every month from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. for regular maintenance. Check the University's System Status page for status updates.

WebVista A Decommissioned on July 1

On Wednesday, July 1, 2009 at 5:00 PM, OIT decommissioned WebVista A, the Blackboard Vista version 3.0.7 system. This was the final step in the upgrade to WebVista 4, which happened in August 2007.
